Okay, it's probably a sign that I'm so relaxed that even my brain has gone on holiday, but finding yourself at the supermarket checkout and your wallet at home is still no fun.

Nor is rushing home to get my money and back to the supermarket to pick up my stuff, again.

I did that a couple of years ago - and it seems it is such a common thing at our local Tesco that they have a system especially to deal with it. They have a sort of trolley corral where they keep your trolley full of shopping, give you a numbered ticket, and when you come back with the money retrieve the correct trolley and process the payment!

Did your supermarket have the same sort of thing?

Nothing that organised - but the checkout girl didn't have to think about 'just put the trolley over there' + hand wave in the general direction.
